Hi - I'm the woodwind coach for the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra. We are surprisingly desperate for flute students! Rehearsals start September 11th but late arrivals are accepted.
The LAYO is a good quality group and the students get the opportunities to perform real music - this semester, the upper orchestra is learning Beethoven's 2nd Symphony. There is an intermediate and an advanced level group. If you are a teacher and have students who may be interested, here are a few details:
-18 and under
-Must have had at least 2 years of private lessons, and be continuing lessons while a member
-Rehearses Sunday afternoons at the Milkin School, near the Skirball Center in Sherman Oaks
-Fall Concerts scheduled for the Sunday/Monday before Thanksgiving
-Possible financial aid
Go to their website: www.losangelesyouthorchestra.org to get more information about this great group. Thank you!
