I recently stumbled upon a website www.johnranck.net/studio/clinic created by John Ranck which contains a veritable treasure trove of resources for flutists. John has organized the resources he has collected into the very useful categories of business resources for musicians, health resources, performance resources, practice/teaching resources, summer music programs, and links. Each category has a surprisingly large selection of links divided into even more sub-categories. Under practice/teaching resources he has sub-categories for online scores with about 30 links, multiphonics with 7 links, and intonation with 16 links just to name a few.
It’s no wonder John has a knack for doing this. In addition to his DMA from Manhattan School of Music, he holds a Masters of Science degree in Library Science from Simmons College. When I asked him how his site came to be, he said he started his personal site at the same time he was doing a Library Science class project for the now defunct Greater Boston Flute Association in the early days of the web. He continued his personal site adapting it to the needs of his Flute Studio as he went along. Whenever he sees an interesting article or resource on one of the flute lists or in his own research, he makes note of it and adds a link to the corresponding category.
I recommend you take a look at his website. There are so many interesting articles and links to discover.
